šļø Launching November 11: This article covers features launching on November 11. Admins can opt in early.
View Opus exactly the way a team member sees it: their assignments, their Library, their Newsfeed, and their Messages. It's the quickest way to answer "why can't I find my training?" or check why something looks different for them.
ā Before you start: You need the View as others permission. Admins have it unless an Admin turns it off for their Role, and an Admin can turn it on for a Manager Role. You can view as people you can already see: for Managers, team members at their Locations at the same Role level or below.
Table of Contents:
Start Viewing as a Team Member
In the Dashboard
Go to People > Users.
Click ⦠on the team member's row, or open their page and click ⦠in the top right corner.
Click View as and their first name, like View as Carrie.
Read the confirmation, then click View as Carrie again.
Opus reloads as that team member. A purple bar at the top of the page shows Viewing as, their name, Role, and Location, and Read-only.
You can also start from the people lists on a Location or Role page. To skip the confirmation next time, check Don't show again. This only applies in that browser.
In the Opus Training App
Tap Team and open the team member's page.
Tap ⦠in the top right corner, then tap View as and their first name, like View as Jeremiah.
Read the confirmation, then tap View as Jeremiah.
The app reloads as that team member. A purple bar at the top of the screen shows Viewing as, their name, Role, and Location, and Read-only.
To skip the confirmation next time, check Don't show again. This only applies on that phone.
What You Can Do While Viewing
Viewing as someone is read-only. You see what they see, but you can't change anything as them:
You can open their assignments, Courses, Checklists, Newsfeed, and Messages, including their direct messages and drafts, and move around Opus the way they would.
You can't complete training, submit a Checklist, post, send a message, or change a setting. Nothing you open is marked as read.
To make a change for a team member, stop viewing and make it from your own account.
Stop Viewing
In the dashboard, click Exit in the purple bar. You're back in your own account, on the page where you started.
In the Opus Training app, tap Exit in the purple bar.
Who Can View as Others
View as others is a permission on each Role:
Admins: on by default. An Admin can turn it off for an Admin Role.
Managers: off by default. An Admin can turn it on for a Manager Role, and Opus asks them to confirm first.
Trainees: not available.
To change it, go to People > Roles, open the Role, click Edit, and check or uncheck View as others.

FAQ
Why don't I see View as?
Your Role doesn't have View as others, or the team member is someone you can't view as. Managers can only view as team members at their Locations at the same Role level or below. Ask an Admin to check your Role.
Will the team member know I viewed as them?
No. Viewing as someone doesn't send them a notification, and because it's read-only, nothing changes in their account.
Can I see their direct messages?
Yes. You see everything they see, including their direct messages and drafts. Opening them doesn't mark anything as read.
Can I view as anyone?
Only people you can already see. You can't view as yourself or a deactivated team member.
