Messages in Opus are one-way announcements or direct messages that Admins and Managers can send to their teams. Messages can be sent to your entire team or a handful of individuals. While Messages are one-way, recipients can react to messages with emojis.

How to Use Messages

  • Employee Recognition, Team Shout-Outs

  • Weekly Newsletters

  • Operational Updates & Training Reminders

Sending a Message in the Mobile App

Here's how to send a message blast:

  1. From your app, head to the Messages tab at the bottom of your home screen.

  2. Select +New in the top right corner.

  3. Tap Add Recipients or the + icon to add your recipients. There are no limits to the number of trainees you can message

  4. Add an optional subject line and type your message.

  5. Add any attachments directly from your mobile device or your Opus Library.

    1. Optional: When adding multiple attachments, you can pin one of them to appear at the top of the message.

Only Admins in Opus have the ability to send messages on behalf of the organization. Managers cannot customize the Sender field.

What Happens After a Message is Sent

Reactions and Reporting

Recipients can react to messages with preset list of emojis, increasing engagement. Admins and Managers can also view detailed reports (including read receipts!) on these reactions to gauge message effectiveness. To view engagement on a message blast that you've sent, tap the message and scroll down to see open rates and emoji reactions.

Improved Message Rendering

From the recipient's point of view, pinned media now appears at the top of the message for increased visibility. Other attachments are neatly arranged at the bottom for better organization.

Deleting Messages

Send something by accident? You can permanently delete unwanted messages from the inbox by tapping the trash icon in the top right corner of the message blast.

  • Admins have the ability to delete any messages sent across the org. Managers can only delete messages they've sent themselves.

Good To Knows

  • When you send a message, recipients are made aware that the message came from you - your name will appear as it was entered when you signed up.

  • Messages are one-way. Trainees can not respond, only react with emojis.

  • If a trainee has not downloaded the app, they will receive a text message instead, to their registered phone number.

  • Your entire message history lives on the Messages page.
