Resources in the Dashboard

All resources live under the Resources tab of your Library.

Add a Resource

  1. Click the blue + New button at the top of the left sidebar.

  2. Select Resource from the dropdown.

  3. Click Upload Resource to select a file from your device (or drag and drop), or click Paste Link to add a URL.

  4. Add a name and description.

  5. Click Save.

Alternatively, you can also add a new Resource from the Resources section in your dashboard using the blue New Resource or Opus Doc button.

💡 Opus supports many file types, but we recommend PDFs for documents, JPEGs for images, and MP4s for video or audio. See Supported File Types for the full list.

Resource Access

To make a resource visible in a team member's library:

  1. Click on the resource in the Library.

  2. Under the Manage tab, click Library Access.

  3. Select which users, locations, roles, departments, brands, or franchises you'd like to share it with.

Archiving and Recovering a Resource

Resources are archived rather than permanently deleted.

To archive a resource:

  1. Hover over the resource title in the Library.

  2. Click the ellipses icon to the right.

  3. Select Archive.

To recover an archived resource:

  1. Click the Archived tab under Folders.

  2. Hover over the resource title.

  3. Click the ellipses icon and select Unarchive.

💡 When you unarchive a resource, it will return to any folder, course, or module it was previously in.

Resources in the App

To find Resources in the app, navigate to the Library section. From there, use the search bar or select the filter for Resources. Note that users only see Resources that have been shared with them via Library Access.

Opus Docs

Opus Docs are resource documents you can create and maintain directly in Opus. Unlike traditional PDFs, they're searchable, translatable, and optimized for mobile—making them ideal for SOPs, recipe cards, and HR policies like your employee handbook.

For full details on creating, converting, and managing Opus Docs, see How to Use Opus Docs.

Supported File Types

The maximum upload size is 1 GB.

Documents

  • Recommended: .pdf

  • Not supported: .pages, .doc, .docx

For Google Docs or Sheets, convert to PDF before uploading.

Images

  • Recommended: .jpeg, .gif

  • Also supported: .jpg, .png

  • Not supported: .heic (iOS typically auto-converts to .jpeg when sharing)

  • Recommended: .mp4, .mp3

  • Also supported: .mov, .webm

Links

  • Paste a link to a website, YouTube video, or Vimeo video.

  • Note that translation features don't apply to third-party hosted videos. Google Doc or Sheet links will require the trainee to have access to that file.
