Modules and Courses are assigned from your Library or your People Page. You can manually assign content or automatically assign content using an automation.
Manual Assignments
To manually assign content:
Click the blue "+Assign" button on your course or module overview page
Select an individual user, location, or role.
Before confirming the assignment, the list will tell you if the user is in progress or has already completed the course.
Automations
Automations automate course assignments to users based on Locations and Roles. Creating an automation will assign content to:
everyone at one or more location
everyone in one or more role
To create an automation:
Click the "new automation" button on your course or module overview page
Select the location and roles you wish to target
Set a start and end date for your automation (optional)
Decide whether you want the assignment to go to future employees only or future and existing employees
Click Save
People Page Assignment
Here is how you assign a course through the People Page.
Click the name of the employee you'd like to assign courses to (not the check box!)
In their profile page, click the blue "+ Add" button next to Assignments
Select the courses, modules or files and click Assign
* Trainees are assigned the published version of the course and module at the time of assignment. Any updates/edits made to that assigned course/module will not show for any pre-existing assignments unless manually reassigned.
Reassigning Courses or Modules
Here’s how to reassign a course or module to a trainee:
Go to the Assignments tab on the Course or Module Overview Page
Select the trainee(s) you want to reassign the course to
Select “Reassign” from the blue tool bar that pops up on the bottom of the screen.
A pop up will appear letting you know if the trainee(s) you have selected have already completed the course or are in progress.
If a trainee has completed a course as a standalone assignment and you assign the same course from within a module, the trainee will need to retake the course.
If a trainee has completed a course from within a module and it appears in another module, the trainee with get completion credit for that course. If they are in progress on the course, they will need to start over.
Manually Reassigning Courses
If a trainee is in progress on a course and that course is manually re-assigned to them again, they will lose progress and have to start over.
If a trainee has completed a course and that course is manually re-assigned to them again, they will have to take the course again.
Reassigning Courses via Automations
If a trainee is in progress on a course and that course is re-assigned again via automation, they will not lose their progress.
If a trainee has completed a course and that course is re-assigned again via automation, they will not be assigned that course again
Manually Reassigning Modules
If a trainee is in progress on a course and that course is part of a module that you manually re-assign, they will not lose their progress on that course
If a trainee has completed a course and that course is part of a module that you manually re-assign, they will get credit for that course
Reassigning Modules via Automations
If a trainee is in progress on a course and that course is part of a module that you re-assign via automation, they will not lose their progress on that course.
If a trainee has completed a course and that course is part of a module that you re-assign via automation, they will get credit for that course.
Here’s how to remove an assigned course or module:
Click on the title of the course or module you'd like to un-assign.
Click the Assignments tab on the Course or Module Overview Page.
Click on the trainee(s) you want to remove the course assignment from
Click “Remove” on the blue tool bar that appears on the bottom of the page
Note: You can only remove course assignments from trainees that are in progress or not started
