How to Edit Translations
Go to your Library and click the content you want to edit.
Click Edit in the top right corner to open the builder.
Click the Translations icon in the top right corner and turn on Translation mode.
Choose the language you want to edit from the dropdown.
Click into individual screens to edit the content directly. Changes save automatically.
Click Publish.
💡 Wait for AI translations: If you see "AI is generating your translations" and "This may take a moment," wait for it to finish before editing that language.
Why edit specific language translations?
Automated translations are a strong start, but they can miss idioms, cultural references and context. A quick review makes sure each translation says what you mean.
Here's what to look for:
Idiomatic phrases: Idioms don't always translate directly. Adapt them so the meaning comes through in the target language.
Cultural sensitivity: A phrase that's harmless in one language can be confusing or offensive in another.
Context: The same word can translate differently depending on where it's used. Pick the translation that fits your content.
Language nuances: Fine-tune wording and tone that automated translation may miss.

Where did the Translations button go?
It's the Translations icon in the top right corner of the builder. Click Edit on your content first, then click the icon and turn on Translation mode.
Do I need to edit every translation?
No. Only edit translations that need fixes or cultural adjustments.
Will my edits affect assignments that are already live?
No. Team members already assigned a Course keep the version they were assigned, and your edits reach new assignments after you publish. Publishing a Check-in, Audit or Checklist resets any in-progress ones on the previous version.
Can I edit multiple languages at once?
No. Edit each language separately by switching languages in the Translation mode dropdown.
What if I want the original automated translation back?
Reach out to Opus support for help restoring previous versions.
