How to Duplicate a Module or Course

Duplicate a Module or Course to reuse training you've already built — and choose whether the copy reuses or copies its content.

Written by Ben Brunken

Building training that's similar to something you've already made? Duplicating saves you from starting over — copy an existing Module or Course, then tweak it instead of rebuilding from scratch. It's the fastest way to keep new training consistent with what already works.

You can duplicate from two places: the Library, or from inside the Module or Course itself.

How to Duplicate a Module or Course

From the Library

  1. Hover over the title in your Library.

  2. Click the three-dot menu (•••) to the right.

  3. Select "Duplicate" from the dropdown.

From the Module or Course

  1. Open the Module or Course.

  2. Click the three-dot menu (•••) next to the blue "Assign" button.

  3. Select "Duplicate" from the dropdown.

Module Duplication Options

When you duplicate a Module, you'll choose how its contents come along:

  • Duplicate structure only and reuse content — copies the Module's structure and reuses the same Courses, Resources, and Check-ins inside it.

  • Duplicate structure and all content — copies the structure and creates brand-new copies of everything inside.

📝 Heads up: with "reuse content," the duplicate shares the same inner content as the original — so editing it also changes the original. Choose "structure and all content" if you want a fully independent copy.

FAQ

Will editing a duplicate affect the original?

Only if you chose "Duplicate structure only and reuse content," which shares the inner content. Pick "Duplicate structure and all content" for a copy you can edit independently.

Can I duplicate a Course too?

Yes — duplicate a Course the same way. The structure-vs-content options apply when duplicating Modules.
