Set up a shared profile so your team can train and complete Tasks on one store device. Opus is built for team members to train on their own smartphones, but some customers prefer a shared device.
A shared device keeps training on-site during work hours and supports compliance alongside the clock-in feature. For easy login, use a store-specific email address and a simple password. Many customers also create a dedicated Role, such as "iPad" or "Shared Restaurant Login", to keep this profile separate from individual Trainee profiles.
⚠️ Individual tracking: A shared store profile limits the ability to track individual training progress or Task completion. If monitoring individual performance matters to your team, we recommend that each team member use their own profile whenever possible.

How to Create a Shared Profile
You can set up the shared device as a Trainee profile or as a Manager or Admin profile.
Trainee: Completes training and finds Resources, like any Trainee.
Manager or Admin: Has more permissions, and needs an email address to be invited.
Learn more about how permissions work in Role-Based Permissions Overview.

Best Practices
Use a shared store email that can be accessed from your store device.

Create a dedicated Role, for example "Store Device" or "Shared Login".
For a Manager or Admin profile, customize the Role's permissions. Learn more in Role-Based Permissions Overview.
FAQ
Do I need a phone number to create a shared profile?
No. If you have a store phone number that can receive SMS and everyone using the device can access it, phone number sign-up is recommended. Otherwise, signing up with a shared email and password is the easiest and most reliable option.
Should I use a Manager profile for the store device?
Usually not. A Trainee profile mirrors what your team sees in the app and keeps things simple. A Manager profile can work if you want broader access or visibility into reporting, but most shared store profiles don't need it.
Can I restrict what the store device shows?
Yes. By creating a specific Role for store devices, adding specific locations, and customizing permissions, you can restrict what they can access. Trainees see only the content assigned to them.
Can multiple team members use the same store profile?
Yes, store profiles are designed for shared logins on a single device.
