Paths are a chain of modules designed to be completed in a predefined order. With Paths, you can support ongoing training programs in Opus by automatically assigning modules one after the other.
Paths are great for:
Setting proficiency levels for roles
Cross-training for new skills
Structuring long-term training programs
Watch the video below to get a tour of how to use the path builder.
How to Build & Edit a Path
To build a Path, go to "Paths" under "Workflows". In the top right corner, you'll see the option to "+ New Path".
Click "+ New Path"
Select a Module to begin building your path. To edit an existing path, click on the name of the path in the list to open the path builder.
Note: Paths are named by the first module in that path.
In between each module, you'll see a node with pen icon that lets you set conditions for your path. Here you'll have the option apply filters:

Continue adding modules and filters to your path
Once you're done, click "Save"

To view completion reporting across the modules in a Path, click on the three dots at the end of the row on the Paths page.
A new window with a filtered location completion grid dashboard will load. Click into individual locations to view user-specific completion data. Learn more about how to use the Completion Reporting Grids here.
FAQs
Can I add Courses, Resources or Check-ins to a Path?
No, Paths only let you sequence Modules in your Library.
Who can build a path?
Admins or any user with the "Update Automations" and "Manage Library" permissions can edit or build a path. Users without these permissions will see an error page when they click "+ New Path".
Can I use Paths to automatically assign premium content I've added from the Marketplace?
No, for now, Paths only work for modules that you've created in Opus.
How do Paths interact with Automations that I already have set up?
Existing assignment automations will work with as intended regardless of whether or not that module is in a Path. In the event a trainee is assigned a module through a one-time automation and through a Path, the trainee will immediately see the module assigned via automation in the app.
How are Paths different from sections within a Module?
Unlike Sections, which help you organize the contents (Courses, Resources, and Check-ins) within a Module, Paths allow for you to support ongoing training programs in Opus that require assigning a sequence of modules overtime.
What if a trainee has already completed a module in that Path?
If a trainee has already completed an upcoming module in a Path, they will not be assigned that module and will move forward in the Path.
