How You're Charged in Opus
Billing begins on the day your Opus agreement starts. Your contract outlines your billing cycle, contract length, and payment terms. It also states how many licenses (user- or location-based) your company has purchased
User-based licenses: A license activates automatically when a new employee is onboarded into Opus.
Location-based licenses: A location activates once you add the first user to it. You can view a location's activation date from the Locations page in the dashboard.
Your invoice will generally show two types of charges:
Fixed fee charges: These cover your license purchases and any one-time setup fees.
Usage-based charges: These include credits, other variable costs, and any additional licenses from new locations or users beyond your agreement.
How to Access and Update Your Billing Information
You can access your billing history and manage details directly via the dashboard.

How to Read Your Invoice
Your monthly invoice shows your purchased licenses and any additional charges from that month, such as extra licenses or premium content credits.
Invoice statuses:
Draft: Current billing cycle invoices
Paid: Previous invoices that have been paid
Past Due: Previous invoices with outstanding payments
Types of charges you'll see:
Fixed fee charges: Your initial license purchases and any one-time setup fees
Usage-based charges: These include credits and other variable costs, listed as separate line items. When you add new locations or users beyond your contract agreement, these additional charges will also appear here
Example: "Taylor's World of Beef" signed up for Opus and purchased 150 licenses at $93.12 each, paying upfront for an annual discount. These initial charges and setup fees appear as "Fixed fee charges." Premium content credits are listed separately.

What's the Difference Between Credits and Licenses?
Licenses:
User licenses provide your employees with a "seat" in Opus. They are transferable between employees, meaning when one employee is deactivated, their license becomes available, allowing a new employee to use it without any additional purchase.
Location licenses cover all employees at a specific location. These are also transferable: if you delete a location, that license becomes available to cover a new location. When you add new locations that exceed your contract agreement, you'll receive a dashboard alert about additional charges.
Credits:
Credits are how you "pay" for Premium Content in Opus, such as compliance training
You can purchase credits annually upfront or directly through the dashboard (Settings > Billing > Credits)
Credits are consumed when a team member begins a premium content training
If your credit balance reaches 0, additional premium content assignments will be charged at $10 per credit
