Content Pages Overview

Learn how content pages show who has your training and how it's going, so you can follow up and make changes in one place.

Written by Ben Brunken

Content pages give you one place to see who's completing your training, what's working, and who to follow up with.

Every Course, Module, Check-in, Resource, Checklist, and Audit in your Library has a content page. Open one to check progress at a glance, choose who gets the content, follow up with your team, and update settings.

Table of Contents:

Content Page Tabs

Switch between a summary, the content itself, and its results using the tabs at the top of the page. The tabs you see depend on the content type:

  • Courses, Modules, Check-ins, Opus Docs, Checklists, and Audits:

    • Overview, Build, and Reporting. If you can't edit the content, you see Preview instead of Build.

  • Files, videos, and links:

    • Overview and Reporting. There's nothing to build, so you edit them from the Overview tab.

Published content opens on the Overview tab. Drafts open in the editor if you can edit them, so you can keep working. Otherwise, they open on Preview.

Overview Tab

See how your content is doing, who gets it, and how it's set up. The main cards change with the content type. On the right side, you'll find:

  • Preview: the content the way Trainees see it.

  • Settings: click a value, like the due date or QR code, to change it.

  • Used in: the Modules, Courses, Paths, and Folders that include the content. It only appears when the content is used somewhere.

To rename the content or change its cover, click the name or cover at the top.

šŸ’” Check Used in before big changes: An edit to content used in several Modules or Paths reaches everyone assigned to them.

Preview What Trainees See

Check a Course, Module, Check-in, or Resource from a Trainee's point of view before you share it.

  1. On the Overview tab, click the phone in the Preview card.

  2. Click a screen or step on the left, or use the arrows (or ← and → on your keyboard) to move through it.

  3. To make changes, click Open in builder.

šŸ’” Preview shows the published version: Once content is published, Preview shows the version your team sees, not your unpublished edits. Publish to see your changes in Preview.

Build Tab

View and edit the content itself, like a Course's screens or a Checklist's steps. For published content, the Build tab opens read-only, so you can look around without changing anything.

  1. Click Edit in the top right corner. Your changes save to a draft automatically.

  2. Click Publish when you're ready. Publish only appears while you're editing.

  3. Click the back arrow in the top left corner to return to the Overview tab.

šŸ’” Your team sees changes when you publish: While you have edits that aren't published, Unpublished changes shows next to the name. Trainees keep seeing the last published version until you click Publish.

šŸ’” Size a Course screen's media: While editing a Course, select a screen with a photo or video and use Sizing in the right panel to choose Fit or Fill and set its Height.

Reporting Tab

See who to follow up with and what to improve. Switch views with the tabs at the top of the Reporting tab. The views depend on the content type:

  • Courses and Modules: Assigned, Past due, Self-serve, Content, and Reviews (Courses only).

  • Check-ins: Assigned, Past due, All attempts, and Step summary.

  • Resources: Opened.

  • Checklists and Audits: Submissions, Schedule completion, and Steps (Checklists only).

What each view shows is covered under Content Types.

šŸ’” Managers see their own Locations: Managers see team members at the Locations they manage. Their Role sets what they can do: Assign and Reassign need the Assign Content permission, Remove needs Unassign Content, and Mark Complete needs Mark as Complete.

Settings and More Actions

Change how the content works for your team, like its due date or QR code, in either place:

  • Settings card: on the Overview tab, click a value.

  • … menu: if you can edit the content, click … in the top right corner and select Settings.

The … menu also lets you export a PDF (or download a file, video, or link), duplicate a Course or Module, and archive the content. Archiving needs the Manage Library permission.

šŸ’” Some settings appear after publishing: Rows like QR code and a Module's Certificate show in the Settings card once the content is published.

Content Types

Each content type's page puts what matters for that type first. Every section below follows the same order: the Overview tab, then the Reporting tab.

Courses and Modules

Courses and Modules are the training you assign, so their pages focus on who has them and how they're doing.

On the Overview tab:

  • Assignments: how many team members are assigned, the due date, and the percentage completed, with counts for Completed, Incomplete, and Past due that add up to the number assigned. Click View assignments or any count to see who's in it.

  • Average accuracy, Average time, and Self-serve completions: how team members are doing, including those who took it from their Library.

  • Automations: assign the training automatically to team members who match your rules, like a Role or Location. Click Create automation, or Manage to change one.

  • Available in library: let team members find it in their Library as optional training. Click Make available, or Edit to change who can see it.

  • Assign: in the top right corner, assign it now.

On the Reporting tab:

  • Assigned, Past due, and Self-serve: each team member's status, due date, and who assigned it.

  • Content: accuracy, rating, time to complete, completion over time, and results for each step or question.

  • Reviews (Courses only): ratings and comments from your team.

To follow up with several team members at once:

  1. Open Assigned or Past due.

  2. Select the team members.

  3. Choose an action at the bottom of the page: Update Due Date, Mark Complete, Reassign, Message, Remove, or Export Responses (Courses only).

šŸ’” Publish before you assign: Assign, Automations, and Available in library need a published version. Some Courses can only be assigned through a Module. For those, assign the Module instead.

Check-ins

Check-ins are assigned through the Modules that include them, so there's no Assign button. Their pages focus on who's been checked off and how each attempt went.

On the Overview tab:

  • Assignments: how many team members have the Check-in and how many completed it.

  • Sign-off (Settings card): choose whether a Manager signs off or the Check-in is self-directed.

On the Reporting tab:

  • Assigned and Past due: who has the Check-in, with completion over time.

  • All attempts: every attempt and its result.

  • Step summary: the responses to each step.

šŸ’” No assignments yet? Add the Check-in to a Module and assign the Module.

Resources

An Opus Doc's Overview tab with opens and Available in library

Resources are shared through the Library, not assigned, so their pages focus on who can find them and who has opened them.

On the Overview tab:

  • Access: how many team members have opened the Resource.

  • Available in library: choose who can find it, like a Role or Location.

  • Edit (top right corner): for a file, video, or link, change the name or description, or replace the file. For an Opus Doc, Edit opens the Build tab.

  • Trim video and Subtitles (under the preview): trim an uploaded video or edit its subtitles. Subtitles shows once the video has subtitles.

  • Convert PDF to Opus Doc (under the preview): turn a PDF into an Opus Doc you can edit.

On the Reporting tab:

  • Opened: who opened the Resource and when.

šŸ’” Publish, then make it available: A Resource only shows in your team's Library once it's published and Available in library is set.

Checklists and Audits

A Checklist's Overview tab with Submissions, Available in library, and Schedules

Checklists and Audits are completed by Locations, so their pages focus on submissions and Schedules.

On the Overview tab:

  • Submissions: how many came in, including the last 30 days. Click View submissions to see them.

  • Available in library: choose who can find and complete it in the Opus Training app.

  • Schedules: set when Locations need to complete it. For a Checklist, click Create Schedule (Add Schedule once it has one). For an Audit, click Configure schedule.

  • Scoring (Audits only, Settings card): click the value to change how the Audit is scored, then publish to apply it.

On the Reporting tab:

  • Submissions: every submission, with its Location and who submitted it.

  • Schedule completion: which Locations completed each scheduled window.

  • Steps (Checklists only): a summary of each step. Click a step to see its responses.

šŸ’” Publish before you schedule: Create Schedule is unavailable on a draft Checklist.
